BILL AR53/SR11 Declaring Racism as a Public Health Crisis

Updated: Jan 12, 2023

Summary of Bill:

The declaration of racism as a public health crisis aims to close the gap on the persistent health disparities in our state between whites and people of color. The effects of racism and discrimination on the physical and mental health of Black people have been well documented yet our society has often ignored the effects. The Camden County East NAACP branch submitted a letter in support of Bill AR53.

Importance:

It’s important that we strongly urge the Assembly Members to support this resolution declaring racism a public health crisis as we work together to fight this health crisis and close the health disparity gap in our state.
