The NAACP New Jersey State Conference stands with CAIR-NJ calling on the Biden administration to apologize to Mayor Khairullah and re invite him to the White House, to meet with members of the Muslim community to discuss the tangible harms that watchlists have caused and pushing for them to do away with the watchlists altogether. The United States Secret Services’ perceived profiling of New Jersey’s longest-serving Muslim Mayor, Mohamed T. Khairullah is unacceptable, sudden, and baseless. Mayor Khairullah is a well- respected, beloved elected official and community member and did not deserve to be treated this way. The NAACP New Jersey State Conference is against this disturbing treatment and urges the White House to correct their mistake immediately. You can read more about this unfortunate incident here.
