To encourage all Education Committee members to reaffirm their commitment to the educational and social needs of the children in our State.

To seek to secure greater participation from New Jersey NAACP units in order to significantly increase the State Conference’s engagement on educational matters.

 

To engage with key State stakeholders to achieve/promote the Education Committee’s goals, objectives and partnerships.

 

To promote activities/programs that will enhance the ability of New Jersey NAACP units to monitor and advocate for the effective improvement of the academic performance of individuals of African ancestry.

​

To host and promote workshops (parental rights, the enforcement of the Amistad legislation, Special Education protocols, SDA related needs, etc.) that will seek to empower the skills of the community, to become more effective advocates for the needs of New Jersey students.

​

To proactively monitor the State Conference’s involvement in the existing educational segregation lawsuits.

​

To promote the statewide (New Jersey NAACP units) implementation of the “Right to Read” policy.

 

To strongly advocate for sufficient financial resources in order to obtain state-of-art schools in formerly designated “Abbott school districts”.

​

To seek to obtain specific information on the deployment of the Amistad Legislation within New Jersey school districts.

​

To continue to develop a proactive relationship with the NAACP National Education Chairperson/Committee, in order to be aware of national trends. available resources and or educational concerns. These actions will allow our education committee to achieve our State’s educational goals and objectives.
